About Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary

Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary:
From here you can see the best view of sunrise and sunset. Kalatop Khajjiar sanctuary is a 30.69 km2 animal sanctuary at Kalatop and Khajjiar in the chamba district of Himachal Pradesh,India.The sanctuary area is well laid out of trekking trails both at Kalatop and Khajjiar.There is a dense deodar and fir forest covering 19.63 km2 of the sanctuary, which is about 8 km from Dalhousie. Pheasant’s, serow and black bear are some of common animals found here. offering stunning views of snow-capped peaks, lush green forests, and a diverse range of flora and fauna.

Mammals: Himalayan Black Bear, Ghoral, Barking Deer, Leopard, Himalayan Gray Langur, Himalayan Black Marten, Serow, Rhesus Monkey, Flying Squirrel, Himalayan Weasel, and Himalayan Fox.

Birds: Western Tragopan, Himalayan Monal, Kaleej Pheasant, Eurasian Jay, Whitewinged Black Bird, Black Headed Jay, Chestnut Billed Rock Thrush, Blackheaded Jay and Grey Headed Cannery Flycatcher.

Reptiles: Himalayan Pit Viper and Common Indian Krait.

Who Can Participate:

  • Age: 14+ Year
  • First timers can apply; previous trekking experience is more appreciated.
  • The climber must be fit and have sufficient stamina to cover 2 km of distance in 40 min without stress.
  • The participate should be able to carry his/ her own day backpack

Policy on Confirmation:

  • After a successful booking, the customer receives an email confirmation voucher.
  • In the event that the customer's preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule will be negotiated and a new confirmation voucher will be given via email. Alternatively, the consumer may cancel their reservation prior to confirmation and receive a full refund.

Policy on Cancellation:

  • If you cancel 15 days before your trip, you will be charged 30.0 percent of the entire tour cost as cancellation fees.
  • If you cancel between 7 and 10 days before your trip, you will be charged 50.0 percent of the entire tour cost as cancellation fees.
  • If you cancel between 0 and 7 days before your trip, you will be charged 100.0 percent of the entire tour cost as cancellation fees.

Policy on Payment Terms:

  • 0 days prior to the booking date, 100% of the total tour cost must be paid.

Policy on Refunds:

If you are eligible for a refund once your tour has been successfully cancelled. The amount of your refund will be put into the payment account you used to make your payment to us. Within 10 business days, the applicable refund amount will be processed.
